The old saying that “Nothing is certain except death and taxes,” just might need to be amended a bit. To “Nothing is certain except death, taxes… and Primal Fear’s new album being excellent!
Oh yeah, I’m talking about the German Metal band – Primal Fear. They have a new album entitled “Code Red,” with a Release Date of September 1, 2023 on Atomic Fire Records. It’s their 14th Studio Album to add to their impressive Catalog, and this Record does not disappoint!
The album is produced by Bassist Mat Sinner and co-produced by Lead Vocalist Ralf Scheepers & Guitarist Tom Naumann. The remainder of the band is Guitarists’ Alex Beyrodt & Magnus Karlsson, and drummer Michael Ehre. Yes, that is a total of three guitarists! “Code Red” is Mixed & Mastered once again by Jacob Hansen, who has done the past few Primal Fear albums. The sound quality is what you come to expect from a Primal Fear album… top notch.
“Code Red” has 11 Tracks, with the Running Time clocking in at right around 60 Minutes. This album is filled with great Guitar Riffs and fantastic Lead Guitar Solos, it’s just awesome. From the very opening Track “Another Hero,” to “Deep In the Night,” to “Fearless,” the Riffs just don’t stop. (The album does feature one Ballad- “Forever,” which isn’t unusual for Primal Fear to endeavor.) But this is Metal euphoria to your ears!
So even though “Death and Taxes” are bad, “Code Red” is CERTAINly an excellent Metal album – by one of the very best and consistent Metal bands in the world, Primal Fear. Well done once again guys!
