IMPERA
Ghost are back on the scene with a new release: “Impera”
October 2022: Ghost managed to make a mark with a distinctive sound. Infact, it is safe to say that this Scandinavian combo stands out as one of the most strikingly diverse bands in the occult rock music scene, offering something that’s melodic, but also very energetic and aesthetically driven. When it comes to Ghost, there is one thing that most people will tell you: you hate them or you love them. This very polarizing band has create a cult-like following, with fans enjoying their blend of sounds, while others not finding a genuine spark with their music and what it represents.
This brand new album combines 70s influences as diverse as Blue Oyster Cult and ABBA (yes, you heard it right!) while maintaining the band’s unholy imagery to the forefront. The band’s sound is a blend of various influences, channeling the energy of epic metal with the unique twist of classic rock and all the melodies that make Swedish music so distinctive. There is really no limit to what these artists can do in terms of keeping metal melodic, but also very credible.
The group’s most recent studio effort, “Impera”, stands out as a really fantastic example of their artistry and flow, giving the audience a strong sense of natural character and edgy musicianship that feels spontaneous and natural, yet balanced and creatively thoughtful. Fans of the band will connect with this release, ot only because of how the music plays out and unfolds, but also because of how the entirety of the arrangement feels so relatable and well produced.
“Impera” is a really impressive calling card for a band with something to say. On this album, there is also room for several ballad-like composition, highlighting the band’s versatility.
