Blind Guardian is back with a long-awaited new release: The God Machine. With a set list featuring 9 songs, the record highlights the group’s energetic and ambitious sound, showcasing a band in great shape!
The opener, “Deliver Us From Evil” is a nod at the band’s roots, offering fast-paced drums along with melodic hooks and great guitar work. Still, this album is more than just the band retracing its past steps.
There is also room for new ideas and innovative twists. For instance, the song “Life Beyond The Spheres” is a great example of how the band was able to bring in different influences and sounds, while still retaining its signature sound. The production of the album is outstanding: the recording is very performance-driven, as opposed to relying to heavily on studio gloss and other trickery.
