Killswitch Engage – This Consequence

In 2002, Alive Or Just Breathing sent shockwaves through the culture, claiming a spot on Decibel’s “The Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.” They generated north of 3 billion streams and picked up gold and platinum plaques for The End of Heartache and As Day Light Dies respectively.
They notably received three GRAMMY® Award nominations for “Best Metal Performance” and cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 with a trio of consecutive releases: Killswitch Engage[2009], Disarm The Descent [2013], and Incarnate [2016]. Meanwhile, 2019’s Atonement represented a critical high watermark with praise from Forbes, Revolver, and NME who christened it “one of the most engaged and exciting records that Killswitch has ever made.”
Killswitch Engage have not only packed houses on repeated successful headline tours across the globe, but they have consistently held their own sharing bills with acts from Iron Maiden, Slipknot, and Slayer to My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, and Coheed & Cambria.
This new album by Killswitch Engage boasts some beautiful and brutal metal songs. Taking things to a heavier note with this album while mixing some melodic pieces, a signature of Killswitch Engage.
Taking things to a heavier level with this album, a contrast to some of the immensely popular past metal ballads such as “My Curse ” and “End of Heartache” that have rocked concerts worldwide.

Their new track “Forever Aligned” boasts some of that beautiful but heavy sound we love with the guitars and melodic singing and guitars taking stage with some awesome guitar tapping and a strong ending.
Song “I Believe” would definitely fall into the same genre and feel Avenged Sevenfold gives us but with its own unique feel and Killswitch’s incredible ballad endings without being a copycat as it takes us to new levels with a heavier sound and the singers natural voice really comes out to shine.
“Where it Dies” gives us a rhythmic badass feel with a good heavy but clear metal smack on the album, with enough bounce you’ll want to crank it in the car.
Overall the album gives us a heavy feel with some heavy melodic ballads, which the fans most definitely crave, along with some heavy vocals bordering on deathmetal but with guitars that are far more clear, with solos giving the the songs clarity and emotion to match the vocals.
Definitely recommended to fans of Avenged Sevenfold in their heavier years, Lamb of God, and Chelsea Grin.
